Reading this chapter, I noticed something.! GOD was not mad at them for turning away even after all the warnings and miracles, it’s more about them not recognizing that what they did was bad and then return to GOD —— so it’s not about us never making a mistake but that if you do, you will come back and He will help you not to make those mistakes again. So @faithful, GOD won’t be angry that we did not read our Bible one night because we were tired or maybe we intentionally did not read self, the major concern is about realizing what we did and come back. So if people say I’ve done a lot of bad stuffs, tell them that’s exactly who GOD wants, it’s the sick that need physicians. —— so Judah offense is not turning away from GOD, but it’s not turning back. Hallelujah! Vs.7-9; let’s not take it as teachers or pastors alone, remember we all have a ministry. So Vs 7b is saying - the people do not return because they don’t know the laws/judgement/requirements of the LORD then in Vs.8 it shows they think they were wise because “they have the word/law of the LORD with them meaning they go to church regular but what they thought to be the word/law they were hearing was a twisted lie”. Note: the teachers did not intentionally lied to them, but they were trying to be smart with the word of GOD, it says “the wise teachers fall into trap of their foolishness” —— these teachers rhymes and give motivational speeches, they tried to sound deep but the words came out empty.! My point is, if people route their lives around just Sunday preaching and they love motivational speeches (remember no wise teacher won’t be popular) there is a chance that people like that will miss the way —— so in other words, Study your Bible and build personal intimacy as much as you listen to your pastors! Some will make unintentional mistakes and you will detect it and say no, it’s not like that (me, @faithful and her sister had this experience few days ago listening to a popular pastor) My 2nd point is, we should not try to be smart with the word of GOD, learn to depend on Holy Spirit for understanding…….. Quick story, while reading proverbs 9:1 where it says “wisdom has built her house and hewn out seven pillars” I was like, those 7 pillars must mean something and started doing research, I found books written by pastors that says “Seven pillars of wisdom on Amazon” but I thank GOD I prayed for Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning to me then I heard, “it’s just seven pillars” I’m like just literally nothing else? And Holy Spirit said Yes, it’s just a big house analogy then @moshood gave the visual print of how big the house is.—— please in your ministry, avoid sounding deep but empty, depend on Holy Spirit to avoid bringing people (your families) to ruin.

@Eyitope What really stood out to me is that God was not just upset that Judah turned away, but that they refused to recognize their wrong and return to him like you said. That shows that Gods heart always wants us back no matter what, but with a genuine and sincere heart. Sau egay you mean and mean what you say. And that part about “the sick needing a physician” is so true. God is not looking for perfect people, but for people who will come back to Him. Will come before him bodly and naked. Also, verses 7–9 tgat you pointed out really hit me. It’s scary how people can rely only on sermons thereby miss the truth. I'm.not saying don't listen to sermon, do I listen to them? I do. Will I still listen?? Yes I will. But having the Word is different from knowing it. This is a reminder for us (me) to study personally to know and rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal to you. Thank you for sharing this.

@Eyitope Again, when Christians no longer feel sorrow for disobeying God, there is danger. And Yes we need to study the scripture ourselves and not just depend on what our pastor tells us, that’s why we are here and that’s the essence of this platform.

@Eyitope i believe God is not happy with them not because of the sins but because they don't see those things they do as sins while the people that were suppose to lead and guide them to the right path (tell them their sin) and turn them to God are afraid to do it because they're afraid that they won't listen to them. I think that's one of the reasons why Jeremiah was saying will the people listen to him. Most preachers tells us what we want to hear nowadays not what is right like @Eyitope said we need to do the digging by ourselves and holyspirit will minister to us personally and give better insight

Vs 22 The question ("Is there no balm in Gilead?") points to spiritual sickness (sin). Jesus Christ is the ultimate physician, and His healing is available to those who repent and come to Him.
