I see no difference between Judah and our current world! These people were doing all sorts of evil and still going to church, they still pay tithe and offerings! Imagine GOD told Jeremiah to go and stand at the entrance of the temple of the LORD and preach not beer parlor, not in harlot court, not in the club, not in the shrine, but to those that claim to be serving GOD (it’s the same people that comes to church that goes to club 🤷🏾‍♂️); we focus more on the building than our heart, and it’s all to our disadvantage (harming ourselves by following other gods not harming GOD) —— if we know people playing church, playing religion, going to church and prostitute court at the same time, show them this chapter, the building will not save anyone; it’s personal relationship, intimacy that matters. Today’s reading is a call to repentance, summon for intimacy and a time to change. Vs.25 “Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.” —— imagine daily rising up early just for our sake, for our benefits…………. Since that time till now, GOD is still sending those prophets to us and it’s one message, “The Gospel” which is a call to repentance and to follow the one and true GOD. — we should do better

@Eyitope Same thing I thought I'm like temple?? So the same people that go to club and do all sort are still the ones that come to church. Which make sense tonehy he is staying in the temple. Vs 9-10 talked about it, God is saying you cannot go and do whatever you like them come here and do like everything is fine. No its not. I think in one of our reading you, @mike was talking about how some people only do God in the church and not everywhere with them, when they come to church they try to act Holy after church they drop God at the entrance, they will come and pick him up again another time they come to church. I remember one day we are having Bible study in my church and someone asked a very sensitive and important questions and then I heard a lady behind me say, ha I will change it ni oo abeg let us leave God out of this equation. I'm like how?? As a believer you cannot remove God from the equation, its even in this situation you need him more let him guide you, listen to him know that if you do not listen to him you will follow the evil desires of your heart. Alot of people in the church are not yet transformed and its so sad. Different person in church and another person outside the church as well. One thing I know is that there is no hypocrisy with God what ever you want to do, do it with your full chest there is no in between.

@Eyitope yes, temple because the priests are not even with God they love their pockets and stomachs more than they love God... so what do the priest say in the temple...

Do we all remember we read in Deuteronomy 31 in vs 19-21 about everything happening here. But guess what God gave Moses a song that will testify again them later. Here is it oo.

Vs 27 Hmmm I have a question, why do you think God is sending all this prophets (not just Jeremiah) to them despite knowing the people will not repent?

@Moshood let’s imagine it this way, if a child is sick and the sickness has no cure yet, you know the parents won’t just leave the child at home to die or neglect them, they will try every possible best and see if the child will survive; GOD love is too much to watch us go astray, He’s always calling unto us and hoping we will listen and turn away from evil; and also GOD won’t be JUST if He disciplined us without prior warnings because the point is not about seeing them us suffer from the consequences of sin, it’s about not even have to bear the weight of sin that brings separation from intimacy so anything to avoid the consequences, GOD is up for it even if it means waking some people up early to remind you “this path leads to destruction”

@Eyitope hmm! Thanks. I see more of God’s character; I see love, patience, and longsuffering.
