Brethren let’s pay attention to Vs.3; “Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns” — these men of Judah are probably hearing the word of GOD and reading the scripture like we’re doing, I mean the temple is in Jerusalem ofc but like Jesus explained in Matthew 13:7 “As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.” — I won’t lie this touched me because this is how many of us relate. We gather everyday to read the word but the worries of this life makes us do otherwise, but the scripture is saying “circumcise yourselves to the LORD” —— I pray GOD help us Just incase someone is confused about Vs.10 just as I was, I hope this helps 👇 The hebrew word used here is actually deceived, so that’s exactly what Jeremiah was saying but except it doesn’t mean GOD lied (we know that’s not in His nature); Through the prophets, the people of Judah thought they were in peace and enjoyment, GOD left them to deceit (what they want to hear) after ignoring warnings (Jeremiah 6:13-14); so Jeremiah was lamenting that “so death is near and you allowed these prophets to say eat and drink” — can prophets deceived the people ? Well check 1kings 22:22……… this makes me wonder 💭 sometimes we ignore what GOD is telling us and looking for the voice that says what we want to hear meaning we already have an opinion before coming to Him. Hmmmmm, I’m really doing some reflection and seeing how true this is 🤔

@Eyitope true when we have an agenda, it becomes harder for us to hear what God has to say especially if it differs to what we want to hear. So we must cultivate the habit of wanting what God wants but that can only be if we love him.

@Eyitope Hmmm, doing some reflection as well and this is so true. Thank you for this btw, I did not see it this way. But this is really interesting 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 and it’s the sad truth. The reality check that everyone avoids. We really need to do the heart circumcision because we say stuffs and we don’t even mean them, we all say God your will, but God is showing you his will but you are saying no consider my own will. I’m kind-of like in this situation rn😌😌😌and I’m like God I know you are never silent help me to pay attention to you, I don’t want to force my will to your will. And that is it, God is never silent, it is you that is not paying attention, you are seeing what you want to see. You have already programmed yourself and you go to him with the answer you want to hear, and we have even planned out solutions/ alternatives for him that if it did not work out this way we can take this approach and make it work out still, We just want it to work out, what if God is saying No😌😌😌😌. This is why we won’t hear from God, we need to give him room. I know this is hard oo(speaking to myself as well) and I don’t even know how to deal with it. God abeg.
