Vs.1-8 is a call to return to our first love ❤️ GOD is saying I know how you were praying, worshipping and studying the word when you are yet to get that thing you were praying for or when you first accepted Him but now our mind and love is set on another! Our alter is now the place for idolatry! — Vs.6 said “Neither did they say, ‘Where is the LORD Who did wonders and miracles for us? — meaning they didn’t seek the LORD, they were carried away!!!! Let’s return to our first love and seek Him again wholeheartedly 🫶 It is funny how unbelievers are so diligent in their unbelieving, fornicators are 💯 serious with their job, they won’t miss appointments, idol worshippers will wake up 1am to offer sacrifices but guess who can’t even spend 1hr to read the world and pray ? It’s US! GOD was saying idolaters don’t even change their gods, why is it us now worshipping other things ? Lastly, we see sins take away our identity or rather it makes us forget who we are in Christ. Isreal was never a servant, adult lions don’t dare look them twice but now young ones are pursuing them—— they were running after their desires, taking the wrong identity; somehow this is most Christians today, then we run to GOD when we are in trouble! ———Brethren, GOD is saying come to your heritage, let us start again, I’ve been waiting for you, don’t delay!.

@Eyitope Hmmm, God is always ready and available to take you, just come. And I’m just going to give some points that stood out to me today which is kind of related to what you said. First is that nothing can actually replace God, he has no substitute, it’s him alone. Other things will fail you but God will not but guess what he still there waiting for you to come back, he’s saying I’m you first love return to me, I did not change you did. Another is that we need to actually constantly remember what God has done for us, so that our love for him can keep flowing. (Let’s say it this way, maybe someone one time gave you something and it met you at the point of your need, you will realize that whenever you see that thing or remember that thing you will always remember that person and just be grateful to them) let your remembrance of his faithfulness inspire you to renew your devotion and commitment to him. @mike It’s so sad that idolaters are so consistent and discipline in what they believe in, they have faith in it pa😂, but we as believers we doubt so much and I think our problem is over familiarity. This word has actually affected people’s relationship with God. I just pray that God will help us to see hi as our first love now and always in Jesus name.

Vs 32 In the Ancient Near East, a maiden’s jewelry and a bride's wedding attire (specifically the sash or girdle) were prized possessions symbolizing her marital status, identity, and joy. A bride would never forget these items, as they were central to the wedding celebration and her public role as a wife. If a woman wouldn't forget her jewelry, how could Israel forget the Maker who gave them glory, identity, and life. Important Lesson: We should not trade God for worthless, temporary idols. God is our greatest treasure!
