Jeremiah said in Vs.2b “You are near in their mouth, But far from their mind” — meaning not everybody that knows the name or calls the name knows GOD; so relationship with GOD is rather personal business of the heart and mind than public affairs of calling the name I.e don’t judge a book by its cover, he comes to church but does he behaves like Christ ? I remembered when @titi said “not all songs that has GOD or Jesus in it is a Christian song” Do we see the change in tone from Vs 14-17; GOD is now planning redemption for Isreal and Judah, then next GOD said, it’s not only my people, even those that swear to Baal, I will graft them in and give them a possession — GOD is showing I created both the Jew and gentiles but those that obey Me are My children. So GOD is not more your pastor’s Father than He is yours, you are the one that behave less of a children or acknowledge Him less of a Father than your pastor. —— just incase anyone is feeling unworthy, show them GOD said “I am your Father always, it is you that need to acknowledge that you are my son by obeying I.e coming to Me” it’s as simple as that. Side note: The Pharisees and the Apostles at early stage don’t remember this part when they were arguing salvation for the gentiles.

Vs 1-4; We can see here that Jeremiah brings his confusion and pain directly to God while still respecting God's character. Vs 5; God tells Jeremiah that if he is tired from "running with footmen" (minor challenges), he will be exhausted by "horses" (major crises). This means things will get harder, and he needs endurance, not complaining. It’s okay to ask God honest questions about our trials and confusion and when life feels unfair, the solution is not to quit, but to build endurance for harder times. Even when it looks like evil is winning, God is still sovereign and will bring ultimate justice (This is an encouragement to somebody to keep their faith in God during times of, trial, trusting that he is both just in his judgments and faithful to his promises for restoration).

When I read verse 3 the thought of why is Jeremiah being mean why will he be saying God should drag them out like sheep to butchered and slaughtered and I was trying to compare him to Moses, one the other hand Moses is always pleading for them. Then I remember that actually God said no prophet has risen in Israel like him and then that is their major difference. First it was different season Moses speaks of Gods Mercy, compassion and patience and Jeremiah in the other hand is the justice system of God. So it was not Jeremiah being mean, it was just him being in alignment with God, God had instructed him not to pray for this people and That is what the people get for their constant and repeated sins and disobedience.

@Faithful Moses was not just a prophet, a typology of Christ and a mediator of the first covenant, GOD used him to liberate the people so he always wanted them to not perish even though he knew they’d perish.
