The fact that GOD does not use our faithfulness to determine His own is merciful. Vs.5 shows GOD fulfilled His own end of the covenant made in Deuteronomy by giving them a land flowing with milk and honey as it is this day but instead, they have gods and alters as many as the numbers of cities and streets; that’s total violation but GOD is still calling them to repentance ☺️🥺 but as @moshood said in previous chapter, if we view gods as things that replace the true GOD in our lives, most of us are not better than the these guyz, social media, work, career, friends and all is what we rather pay attention to —— hmmmmm It’s so lovely that GOD revealed their evil plan to Jeremiah, those guyz are truly stiff necked. I wanted to say if GOD is sending you, they cannot harm you, He will always reveal their plans but then I remembered Stephen, John the Baptist, James the son of zebedee, Jesus Christ Himself and many more; so it’s more of “if it’s not in the will of GOD, nothing can do those in alignment with Him” I might not be putting it right but to avoid giving people false hope because GOD might send you to Asia or Jerusalem and they imprison and beat shege for your body there (Apostle Paul can relate) but our hope will be that of Job “though He slay me, yet I will trust in Him” — i don’t want to sound negative but I’m saying our hope is “we know the devil cannot touch us, thousands shall fall by our left and ten thousands by our right, it will not come near us, so if anything at all is now happening to us, then we appropriate James 1:2-4 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” — so it is the will of the Father and since the Father cannot do evil, it is to our own good. — with this mindset, we will never be victim in any situation.

@Eyitope Our God is a FATHER. I just realize how much God will insist on you when he love you. We can see that from the time of Moses up until now God keep repeating the same thing to this people, they grew worse, yet he desire for their repentance. But here is the balance to it when he call, that’s mercy don’t ignore, don’t let your heart be hardened, it’s your responsibility to respond to him. Disobedience does have consequences.

Another thing here is that as much as majority of them went after other Gods, the ones that God keep using for them are still among them, meaning even in the world full of corruption, you can be different and be sent.

@Faithful you are right and Standing for what is right (God's truth) may bring opposition, even from close friends, family, or religious peers. Like Jeremiah, we must trust God with our protection and outcome.

God is really merciful, even though they don't keep their end of the bargain but God still fulfill His promises for them. They know that God is so merciful that he'll always keep His promises no matter what, they think if we offer sacrifice and go to the temple then we can continue sinning since we've offered sacrifice. Same thing is happening now most people go to church every Sunday immediately they're out of the church they go back to their wrong doings, even the society of nowadays we see some sins as normal since like we call "white lie" lie is lie but we see it as just something that is not serious. And the gods must worships now is the the one the Israelites were worshipping then but we don't see it as gods "I believe anything we take serious or fear more than God is god" like @moshood and @eyitope said some believe more in the gods than the true God. And must times people would want to crucify us for saying the truth because the Anathoth is the hometown of Jeremiah that is his very close to them but yet they want to kill him for proclaiming the Lord's message. We should get to understand God and get closer to Him because he'llbe for ever be faithful to us even though we're not faithful to him. I pray the spirit to get to understand what is right and be able to stand on the truth the Lord with give us.

@olaleye Amen! God has done so much for us, the least we can do to appreciate this love is living a set apart life.

Another thing we should be aware of is even though God is patient, there comes a point when persistent, unrepentant rebellion seals a verdict of judgment.

@Moshood and that time of Judgment cannot be determined by anyone, so I wonder why some postpone their salvation 🤷🏾‍♂️
