It is amazing how people fear all these gods but do not fear the one and true GOD; while growing up, people will swear to GOD easily but to catch them, ask them to say “May the god of iron (Ogun) kill them and they will be afraid and say the truth” — I’m not saying it’s okay to swear but just thinking about it and it’s fine if you can’t relate, but people really fear babalawo, even pastors and that’s what led to some prayer points we prayed in church while growing up, the prayers themselves puts us in fear 😧— but Prophet Jeremiah is saying we should not be afraid of any other god so far we have and know the true GOD; so i think our problem is “Knowledge” Vs.14 — some think our GOD is slow but those gods are fast so they can strike them first, people lose relationships with their parents and family members because they fear that they are witch and will kill them —— people might have different ideas with this but I believe because they are family and unbeliever is a more reason we should pray for them and save their soul to Christ (thinking about my grandma that died as unbeliever 😞 i wish i yielded earlier), at any convenience, please let’s educate people about “Believers Authority” Vs.21 is very powerful, the shepherds have become dull-hearted, and have not sought the LORD; so their flocks shall be scattered.! — people that makes pastors their ultimate source and neglects the real source will never grow and they are susceptible to this scattering. I’m glad we’re taking our time to build intimacy with GOD here, the Pharisees and Sadducees has many followers but i can’t imagine what they would be learning from them —— I pray we do not drink from a corrupt well.

@Eyitope Amen! Truly we don’t know the authority we have as believers and devil is really taking advantage of that to cheat us.

Vs 14-15 highlights to us that human ability will fail us But that of God will not. Every other god that there is with time they will fade away, but there’s a one whose throne is forever. His name is Jesus. The Bible says in Luke 17:1 “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.” Just thinking about the people involved in crafting other gods.

When we talk about idols, let’s not picture graven images in our mind, remember we have modern idols like materialism, money, career, social media, technology, phone, and even celebrities. An idol is anything that takes the place of God's authority in our lives. Vs 23; "It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps." We must daily submit our plans to God, acknowledging our need for His direction rather than relying solely on our own wisdom or self-sufficiency.

@Eyitope Fact. If you think you know it all, then you know nothing. Imagine doing life without God. There are something’s that has happened and that God has revealed to me and I was just thinking about it what if I was an unbeliever??? I will be there using my mind which is always very inaccurate. Thank you Jesus.
