First of all for anyone going through identity crisis this is all you need. The only validation you need is from God not from man. You are not by accident you are part of his plan so embrace it.
When God is calling you do not worry about anything, God will not send you stranded if he is saying go, just go he is looking for that heart of Obedience just like Abraham. God will equip you, give you wisdom, word and the courage you need just trust in him.
So the part where God was asking him what do you see? I was thinking it’s God trying to see if what he sees or whatever he tells him is what he will say because he is sending him out as a prophet and he have to be saying what God is saying, must not take anyone out or add to it. What do you guys think??
Okay, backstory at this time Isreal had divided into 2 Isreal and Judah
Isreal- 10 tribes which is the North
Judah- 2 tribes the north which is tribe of Judah and Benjamin
What led to their separation After Solomon left the throne his son Became the king and the people were like merciful to us you father was hard on us and all but his son said he will even make their burden even harder so the people rebelled and that was where the separation come from. 10 tribe said they are done and followed a new leader who almost immediately turned their heart away from God, created gods similar to why was created in the wilderness and they started worshipping it.
I was just wondering how this people get here
Intentionally practicing what they were strongly warned not to do.
So at this time of Jeremiah the people of Judah and Benjamin had turned away from God as well.(they reside in Jerusalem). So God was sending Jeremiah to save them, he wanted to rebuild what was broken, bring the people back to him, restore them despite their sin and Unfaithfulness. Hence he sent the north to stand against them but even in the mist of it the will not overcome them and he will rescue them because he is with them. The restoration will be complete. Before new have to come the old have to go. If you are holding on to the old you won’t see need for the new if that makes sense.
For salvation to come Jesus had to die.
God is Good and he is Faithful because he is God not because of your Faithfulness.

@Faithful to answer your question, GOD was asking him what did you see to convey a strong message to him just like GOD did for peter too in Acts 10. So let’s look into what he saw
1. He saw branch of almond tree and GOD said you have seen well, I am ready to perform my word, another version says I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled. What does this mean? The Hebrew word for almond is “Shaqed” and it is the first tree to bloom in Israel around Jan-Feb in late winter, so it symbolizes watchfulness, readiness, transitioning out a season to a new one. So that what do you see means “ Just like this tree awakens early and signals that change is near, there is end to spiritual dormancy, I am watching, alert, and ready to act on my word. Actually Hebrew for watching is “shoqed” so GOD was doing word play there and MSG version shows that
The 2nd one is direct, talking about calamity and trouble from the north. So all together “I am alert and ready (almond tree), and what I am about to do is pour out judgment from the north (boiling pot).”. Note: Jeremiah understood this clearly, it wasn’t a mystery to him.

The name Jeremiah is from the Hebrew word “Yirmeyahu” which combine “Yirme” - to exalt, arise, lift up and “Yahu” - shortened form of Yahweh (Hebrew name for GOD) so basically his name means - GOD will rise, GOD will uplift/exalt. I don’t know how they name their children then but it’s always prophetic, Judah was in great spiritual decline was GOD arose through him. - in our time, the names are always opposite identity like Esther doing runs girl, Paul doing yahoo 😂. I pray GOD help us find our true identity, we won’t miss our purpose in Jesus name.
Vs.5 shows we are not just here in life to live and die, there is a greater purpose for our existence — hmmmm, no one is accidental. But again Vs.6-7 reveals we are not chosen because we are capable, not because we can do it but because we have been made capable, because we have been empowered.! It would have been easy if David was tall with muscles and 6 packs like Saul, but he was not, so it’s total divine empowerment…… I’m saying whatever assignment GOD has given us, it’s because He has empowered us; so if GOD is leading you towards caring for the poor and you are also poor right now, well He has given you enough that’s why He’s leading you towards caring for the poor, look beyond now and let GOD lead. (This is for me 🙋)
Like a pastor in our youth meeting said yesterday, serving GOD does not mean a rosy 🌹 journey, the storm will come because Jesus is in your boat. To think of it, why did GOD made him strong? Why iron pillar 😂 it’s because many trials and tribulations will come but they will all fail for the Lord is with him —— the problem is not believing that GOD is with us sometimes, we know and that’s why we are believers, the problem is usually “will He save me or sleep on the boat?” “When will He save me, i will die in this storm if He didn’t save me now ooo” “how I’m I sure I’ve not done something wrong that would make Him neglect me (like people were saying to Job” —— this is the time condemnation voice will raise to power 100 😂. Speaking to myself and all, GOD said “For I am with you, and I will take care of you”

I have a question
GOD was saying to Jeremiah “before I formed you, I knew you and I have ordained you a prophet” - *does this applies to everyone?* If Yes, *then how do we explain those that were claimed to come from marine kingdom and all those that are believed to be gotten from the devil* (although I believe all kids come from GOD but then there are stories that devil give people too🤷🏾♂️)
Lastly, GOD ordained Jeremiah before he was born to be prophet, *do we all have an individual purpose like Jeremiah?* (not general one) If Yes, *how do we find it?* Do we wait for GOD to appear to us or we fast and pray like the Apostles and hear “separate unto me Paul and Barnabas for the work which I have called them for” (although it didn’t later work out 😂)

@Eyitope This second question remminds me of pastor dolapo"s sermon on marriage, "God can say let this work, and as human we decide not to want it work."

@Eyitope As for the first question,, this would re-direct us to some words, predestination, destiny, free will and election.-------------
Predestination means what has already been predetermined, meaning as human we do not have a say on whatever happens or will happen in the corse of our life. Personally i do not believe in this because predestination means absence of free will and where there is no free will, there is no love and our God is love. ------------
Destiny on the other hand means a path already decided and choosen for one e.g Joshua 1:8... He that reads the book of the law and meditates on it day and night shall have good success. Destiny says if you play by the rules, you would get the reward. --------- Free will says man has the choice to decide what he wants. If you love me, you would obey me, if you don't love me, you would disobey. Free will exists to diffrentiate those who love from those who dont love.--------
Now election, election means being choosen for a particular assignment. E.G Jesus was choosen to be a saviour, Judas, also election, same as the other desciples. A leader is elected, same as the folllowers. When we say God knows our tomorrow, we are referring to our journry on earth (Destiny), free-will (our choices) and election (the part we play alongside others.

@Eyitope Firstly, I don’t believe the marine kingdom or devil have the power to create any human. What they do is to try to manipulate what God has created already.
That verse is specifically telling us about God’s specific calling and foreknowledge of Jeremiah.
The second question I believe we all have individual purpose and the purpose cut across all aspects of our lives. It is not spiritual alone, meaning there’s a reason God place you in your work place.
You can find you purpose through your natural gift and strength, your interest and passion (I believe this platform is part of your purpose @Eyitope), prayers, meditation, and sometimes wise counsel from your pastor, spiritual leaders or mentor.
I have a question for all of you, @all. If we were to replay events from the past, specifically from Adam and Eve, do you think you would still be here today, at this very moment, responding to my message?

@#Avatar_TEA wait oooo, is there free will in election ? Does Judas had the free will or he was elected so no matter what ?
Just to clear on predestination, it does not take away free will. Jews were predestined, but did they all accept and believe ? Are they all saved? The predestination is just for the messiah to come from their tribe. Pertaining to salvation, everyone is predestined (he died for the world) but your will is what will bring you into the reality

@Moshood do you want answer from revolution (Dr. peer) or from the Bible 😂
I wanted to say yes, because Hebrew 10:7, Revelation 5 talks about a scroll where what will happen was written, so many prophecies about Jesus that happened exactly but then that would take away our choice, our will power and limit GOD to one strategy and plans because He is the King of Kings, He has the power to do and undo ↩️——- Note: I know this is hypothetical, no one can press the reset or reply button 😂
