When the Bible said they were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, I thought that was the end but Vs 4 saying those that were scattered were even given freedom to preach the Word everywhere! These are men and women that were sold out for Christ, nothing could stopped them……… we’ve said it many time but again, how far are we willing to go for the Gospel ? Simon the sorcerer was able to deceived them because they were yet to see anything else greater than they’ve seen him done but when Philip entered, the story changed that even Simon had to start following Philip and but reverse is the case in our generation, people leave Church to follow sorcerers, even pastors leave GOD to follow herbalists! I’ve seen pastors getting healed by herbalists. Average Christians nowadays is empty, no power, no faith. May the Lord help us!

I would like us to address why Peter and John had to lay hands on them to receive the Holy Spirit! How is it that they were Baptized in the name of Jesus and Holy Spirit baptism didn’t follow? So it’s different? This is my perception! Going back to Acts 2:38; Peter said to them, “Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit! — can we all see the difference here? REPENTANCE! The Holy Spirit operates in the new life not old, meaning we can accept Jesus but not reckon to be dead to sin and alive in GOD (the reality of many Christians) no wonder Apostle Paul in Romans 6:11 said “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Those guyz saw what Philip did and they believed but still having the old man in them, I believe John and Peter led them to repentance and prayed for them so they could receive the Holy Spirit!. We can see that the sorcerer also believed but still living with the old nature, so Peter told him to Repent of his wickedness!……… The question i now asked is - what is the difference between the people of the city and Simon the sorcerer? The best answer I perceived is “Posture of their hearts”. Simon had an ulterior motive, he still wants to bewitch the People and continue to make them see him as god, he did not want the Holy Spirit so he could live his new identity, he wanted it so he could continue in his old nature, lay hands on people too, reason why Peter said he had neither part nor portion in this matter. Christians who believed in the name of Christ can still be bound by demons just like Simon was poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity if they did not Repent, reckon to be dead to sin, do away with the old man and reckon to be alive in GOD through Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

The Eunuch from Ethiopia reading and not understanding the Scripture shows it is a mystery book, our logic cannot interpret it, we need the Holy Spirit (I can testify to this) but another thing I’m seeing here is “seeking”. The guy traveled from Ethiopia to Jerusalem (2,564 kilometers, in miles; 1,593 miles) estimated to be several weeks or even a month by chariot, all to worship. Instead of relaxing, he’s reading the scripture again, so it is evident that if we seek, we will find because Philip was directed to him all just to interpret a part of the scripture to him and baptized him. I’m glad Philip obeyed 😊 obedience is another thing here. Immediately Philip was done with his assignment, he disappeared 😮 these is the stage I want to get to, I’m tired of this natural realm, I want to operate in the Supernatural. The supernatural will be my natural that it no longer surprises me anymore, I’m sure Philip landed like it’s nothing….. those men no longer have life anymore, no plans, no ambitions, it is whatever GOD wants to do with them. Ahhhhhhhh I give myself away GOD, Use ME.

Vs 30 == Who else noticed the simple approach to start a Christian conversation with a stranger “Do you understand what you are reading?” One thing I have learnt is that evangelizing Christ can be so easy, most times, the problem is we don’t initiate the conversation. I am reminded to make it an habit to share Christ with someone in the very easiest way, our day-to-day conversation.
