Brethren, we need to learn from Paul! Even though he was right to call the high priest Hypocrite (whitewashed wall- looking good outside but roughed inside) but again quoting Exodus 22:28 he apologized for he did not know Ananias was the high priest. That’s a big level of humility because at that point, GOD recognized Paul more than Ananias but so far he is the ruler at that time, paul respected him regardless. Again we see how Paul was knowledgeable, he didn’t say I didn’t know it’s in the scripture. Question: when do we draw the line ? Does this mean I can’t speak evil of Tinubu and Trump no matter what? Then what are we to do as Christians when the government are corrupted? Definitely keeping shut will make them continue.

@Eyitope I believe yes we can't speak evil of them Lets take for example the story of David and Saul, Although Saul was rejected, his position was still respected so much until God himself removed him. We can read The 1 Sam 15:26-28; 1 Sam 24:6 ; 1 Sam 26:9-11 and 2 Sam 1:14-16 for more context.

@Eyitope Paul saying he does not know Ananias was the high priest got me thinking of truly we are living out the person that we claim to be. That it is not by mouth alone, are we actually living it out, we don't have to open our mouth to tell people I'm a Christian, that they see it through us, that they will see us and they will even be the one to tell us Faithful you are a Christian.

@Faithful that is true. If it was in the church of today, just from the dressing you would be able to differentiate the high priest from other ministers.

So far we can see Paul is an intelligent man, how he was able to discern part were Sadducees and other part Pharisees and used it against them was nothing but the Spirit of Wisdom…… I pray we receive wisdom and discernment of the Spirit, the Holy Spirit will manifest in our lives even as we enter 2026 in Jesus name! Can we imagine fellow Jews, 40 in numbers bounding themselves with oath to die instead of Paul to live, Paul did nothing to them ooo 😂 and these are influential people, powerful people Let’s pray 🤲 Father, every person that dedicated their lives to see our downfall, to see our death, to see us not make it and fulfill purpose, Lord expose their evil agendas and let them lose their lives (since they already made oath that it’s either them or me and it cannot be me, so losing their lives will not be bad oooo so they can honor their oath).

@Eyitope the Bible did not state it explicitly but contrary to my mindset, this shows Paul still had a good relationship with his families! If not, the sister son shouldn’t bother, they even recognized themselves despite the travels and all. Maybe this is saying we are a new creation doesn’t mean our families not saved yet are our enemies, we should keep loving them and telling them the truth, then praying for them. We don’t know who can be of help like the young man that helped Paul

@Eyitope Another thing I want to point out is that the lord appearing to Paul, Humanly speaking, I believe those were trying moment for Paul and he will be expecting God to show up and say something nice, like my son the storm is over, and it just make sense that most of us would have been in same situations too that you just need God to show up and say something but don't we then become disappointed. but it was the opposite for Paul God was telling him to take courage as you have testified in Jerusalem you would do the same in Rome meaning opposition will come as but I'm with you.

@Faithful Speaking on setting expectations for ourselves and if not met we are eventually disappointed. And I remember a lady saying her dad was sick and they were actually praying for him and God told them they will give them rest and yeah they were thinking oh their dad would be healed and discharged from the hospital and all but guess what the next day he died and they were so disappointed and like God but you said you will give us rest. God gave them rest but that was not the rest they were hoping for.

Sandy Smith said “perhaps we don’t want to come face to face with the unsurrendered areas of our lives. We like our lives just as they are, even if it is less than God’s best” and I keep reviewing my choices and can only ask God to show me mercy!
