Reading Vs 1-3, I was wondering why Paul had to circumcise Timothy when he just argued that Circumcision is not required for salvation in the last chapter đ¤ˇđžââď¸ but what I found out is wisdom is profitable to direct! The story is Timothy was half Jewish (his mother is a Jew) but his father is a Greek (uncircumcised) so Timothy was not circumcised and to the Jews, they wonât allow Timothy in the temple which will block the gospel so Paul principle in 1Cor 9:20 â To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jewsâ so the circumcision here is not for salvation but for acceptance of the gospel.
Now does this mean we have to be like them to preach to them ? No, circumcision was more of a cultural then and even commanded by Moses, it is not a sin but not just a requirement for salvation and Paul himself seeing people wants to make a big deal out of it balanced it in Galatians 2:3 â Not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcisedâ. So itâs just a matter of being accommodating for the gospel, if a Muslim donât eat pork (pig meat) donât go to preach to them eating it. I learnt from a meeting I attended yesterday that during evangelism, we are not there to accuse, judge, and argue, we are there to say the truth, in fact the pastor said after preaching to a man drinking alcohol in beer parlor, the man asked him - can i continue my drink? And he said of course, because what will change him will change him, just sow the seed and remember you donât have to be like them to win their souls, Holy Spirit convicts not us. Our is to sow seed and let Holy Spirit take it up. Hallelujah

@Eyitope Youâre right! Paul knew Timothy was going to preach to the Jews. So heâs taking away any opportunity they might have to discredit his message. Paul did the same thing himself by changing to his Latin name so he wouldnât be offend the Gentiles.

Can we see the orderliness and hierarchy in the early church? Paul even being filled with the Holy Spirit did not start telling people what to do, itâs the decree determined by the Apostles and eldersâŚ.. As much as it is important to win souls, Paul inquired of the Holy Spirit before going to any place, what do we assume might happen to him if he went to Asia in flesh ? These men had success everywhere because they were walking in the Spirit always! So brethren letâs walk in the Spirit, we canât risk failure as a believer.
Just incase one is doubting here if GOD hears their prayers, this is a confirmation here, imagine someone praying in Macedonia to GOD for help and the Lord brought the man in a vision to Paul, mind you this is still happening.
LORD, I want to be the Paul of this generation, someone you can rely on to give answers to peopleâs cry, someone you can send at any time, I surrender LORD đ

I believe God answers prayer
And he chooses the way he want to answer prayer..
Seeing how God answered violently for Paul and Silas I was now comparing it to that of Peter, in Peter case it was so calm no one knew about it, at first that Peter thought he was dreaming. But here God came with full force. It just show that God answers prayer and he chooses the way he want to answer, we cannot start boxing him to the way we want him to answer us.

@Mary this is a proof that not everybody telling us what will happen in the future as in prophecy is of GOD, some are of the devil and we need the Spirit of discernment like Paul not to be swayed awayâŚ. The girl was actually saying the truth, but by what Spirit ?
I believe Paul and Silas were in prison just for the keeper of the prison to be saved! This shows how far GOD will go to have us not condemned. Paul and Silas were beaten oooo, I canât imagine their reward, these are wealthy men not all these one we judge and call wealthy nowadaysâŚâŚ I believe Paul and Silas were not singing and praying to be released, they were just in a praise mood and their situation do not bother them because they did not send themselves. Paul was even confident that he told the magistrate to come and release them by themselves, he knows who he is, no identity issue.
I pray every chain that is holding us from fulfilling purpose, destiny, will be broken today! We receive our freedom to fly higher and do great things for GOD.
Also our Spiritual sight and sense are opened right now in Jesus name! We operate in the Spirit and not in the Flesh, we are not confused, we know and hear what the Lord is saying in Jesus name! AMEN

@Eyitope Fr, I said God will have you go through some difficult things and it might not be for you, it might even not be for a lot of people but just for someone, in the case of Paul and Silas they went through all that just for the jailer to be saved. Including Lydia as well. Although the wanted to go to a different city but the Holy Spirit stopped them. And after having Macedonia vision and they went there. 2 people and their family can bold say they genuinely encountered God.
Just like the people encountered God I pray we will encounter God too and it will show that we have encountered him in Jesus name.

Thereâs this joy that comes with knowing and believing in God, you go just Dey happy anyhow..
The word is not even happy, because happiness is limited, itâs for a moment and Joy last long, Joy is unspeakable.
Yeah and I remember one of the fruit of the spirit is Joy, so itâs a must for believers to be joyful at all time. Itâs one of the evidence to know that you truly believe and the Holy Ghost is in you.
You rejoice(Agallio).
Another thing I realized is that as believers we donât fight physically, we make it spiritual by fighting on our knees in place of prayer. The Bible says in 2 for 10:14 that the weapon of our warfare are not carnal but are mighty through Hod to the pulling down of strong holds.
Paul and Silas did not have have to fight, war, lift a sword , they donât have to lift a finger. The battle is if the Lord
And the song of Minster Dunsin that says, the battle formation is the mystery of praise you only have to go with your Judah, which was what Paul and Silas did, they only prayed and sing hymns to God and he came through for them Violently.
I pray God will give us the eyes to see beyond our situation or circumstances and we will not be help down but it in Jesus name.
