This whole chapter emphasizes that God identifies us as nations of the world, tribes, tongues and people, He encourages us to relate with everyone in love. Mama Eve is identified as the “mother of all living” according to Genesis 3:20 and everyone is created in the image of God (Gen 1:26-27). No racism, no discrimination. Verse 28 talks about how God can break borders to bring us His help- spiritual and can be translated to all areas of our lives as we see how He did with Peter and thank God for Peter’s obedience, sending him to Bro Cornelius. Verse 34 Peter himself affirms that God shows no partiality, Peter struggled with accepting this reality, which necessitated the Lord, having dealings with him on this matter, as we go through our Christian journey we need to understand that not everything will be well understood, at certain points, the Lord we will need the Lord’s dealings to understand certain matters so we can grow, my prayer is when each of us stand with our dealings that we will be obedient, Amen. Verse 38, recounts “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him”. So I ask us today what will the testament be of us according to what was written concerning us? I imagine mine would be like “how God anointed Mary of Awgu, who went into the world and healing went through her hands to all whom she came in contact with, for God is with her”! Lord, anoint us for your works! Amen. Verse 44 is an example that we can carry the presence of God everywhere we go, imagine speaking to your colleague at work or friends in school and the Holy Ghost falls on them and they start speaking in Gods, or you speak with them and the Holy Ghost reveals things to you about them and you say it to them in normal everyday conversation. If there’s anyone that doesn’t yet speak in tongues amongst us, I pray that as we study the book of Acts right in your study place, the Holy Spirit will come upon you and your human mind will not comprehend it, Amen.

@Mary My testament would be how GOD anointed Michael of Adunbi, who went into the world, and healing went through his hands to all whom he came in contact with, for GOD is with him! Amen🙏

Let’s look at Cornelius, a gentile who received the Holy Spirit together with his household! First, this man was devoted to Christ, he feared GOD but not alone, with all his household (not like Job 😂 I will never forget that man), prayed to GOD always, he give generously to people (please check generously definition) and he fasts also. And to me, he was doing all these to have GOD appear to him or with hidden agenda, so he has the right heart posture, if only we can be like this man 🤔. Pray always, fear GOD, love people, fast, devote all to GOD and stand with Him with the right heart posture, GOD is faithful and Just. I feel there’s something we are missing in this generation, we are more of doctrine guyz just like Peter, that we argue what is right and not instead of allowing GOD to lead us, some will say ladies opening their hair in church is a sin, men wearing cap in church is a sin, other object all these, some Christians don’t eat pig because it’s unclean animal while others do, I recently learned they don’t speak in tongues to microphone in Deeper life, only selected people are allowed to be baptized with Holy Spirit in my home church that I used to call other churches praying in tongues fake, there’s a gist going on now about groaning (pastor Edu’s church) some are saying it’s fake, that’s not groaning and all that and so many more. I pray we receive the truth just like Peter.

Again let’s be like Cornelius, he called together all his relatives and close friends, he knew something was about to shift but didn’t want it all for himself, let’s share this gospel to people around us, that they may know the truth and be set free. Vs 44 said “The Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word” what if Cornelius didn’t invited them ? This chapter also confirmed my doubt about if there’s a sequence to water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism. Some always say you can’t be baptized with Holy Spirit if you are yet to be baptized with water and for me, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit before I had the conviction to be baptized with water, so I used to thought maybe I was fake 😂 ignorance is a good tool of the devil. Seems I spoke with @moshood about water baptism

@Eyitope Yeah, you can receive the Holy Spirit before Water baptism but Water baptism is still important.

Peter was never told what to tell cornelus. He was ready at all time to preach the gospel. This is a Christian trait everyone need to have. Be the lord's soldier all the time. Have the word. Fill yourself with the word at all times. God cannot use an empty vessel. This chapter really explained the importance of a mentor. The angel said to cornelus i will send you a teacher who will teach you. Something else I also learnt from this scripture is good deed alone will not take you to heaven. Knowing and accepting jesus alongside your good deeds is a requirement.

@Chiemeka Yes I was like, God did not even say anything to him he just said go, not even the interpretation of the dream at first before asking him to follow them. Obedience is Key.

Cornelius was another man I would say God was intentional about. God gives instructions when he is de to take you to another dimension when he want to shift you same way he gave him instruction. He knows that he prays, he gives to people but he want more for him. He who is trusted with little more will be added. He saw that okay you will do great you have been faithful in what you are doing let’s add more. Another thing here is how loving He was, he did not want to be the only partakes of what God is set to do, so he invited his relatives and friends. He was like let’s do this thing together, I can’t run it alone. I could also see humility at its peek. Because he was a centurion let me say Captain of an army and when Peter came he fell at his feet. He know that this one is not physical rank oo. The last thing that stood out to me here is that, when God is giving you instructions, sending you to some people or someone, he’s also teaching you something. Peter said he now realizes that God truly does not show Favoritism. You know sometimes you will not believe something until they happen to you. Guys there’s power oooo( just by speaking the Holy Spirit fell on all) he never even pray or play hand oo. Levels Dey.
