Luke was part of those that wrote Acts too đŚ now Iâm jealous of Theophilus because who knows what other account of Luke he has with him.
First, I believe we all agree to the fact that there is time and season for everything but we must remember GOD has been in existence before the beginning of time, we can box Him to our own circadian cycle đ, so we need to trust in GODâs timing and stay in alignment so we wonât miss itâŚ. GOD told Abraham he will be father of many nations, the exact time wasnât communicated but he trusted in GODâs timing even when his wife tried to help the situation, it happened in the appointed time.
The 2nd part is where I would want us to take seriously. Average believer is okay without power, the only thing that shows we have the Holy Spirit is tongues that we speak and Jesus is saying here that âautomatically weâve received power the moment Holy Spirit came upon us i.e when we gave our life to Christ and made the confessionâ. Remember this power is to help us in our witnessing ministry⌠Pastor Dolapo said âMiracle is from Church not for Churchâ meaning average believer should be able to preach to unbelievers, set them free and cast out demons in them.
When Jesus sent out the 12 to preach His name, He gave them power to cast demons and heals the sick (Luke 9), likewise when He sent the 70 (Luke 10) He asked them to heal the sick, Jesus performed miracle almost everywhere He preachedâŚ. So literally we have potentials that identity and knowing issue is stopping us from exploitingâŚâŚ since itâs not our power, why are we afraid ? Why not pray with faith and if nothing happened then you know itâs left to GOD and not you (thinking about this fr) or what do you guyz think?

Yeah Eyitope, the book of Acts was written by Luke. Itâs like the part 2 of Luke. Luke explains everything about Jesus when He was on earth to His death and resurrection, while Acts is more about the churchâs growth and the spreading of the gospel after Jesus left.
Godâs time is the best and He makes everything beautiful in His time!
Speaking in Tongues is not the only prove of Holy Spirit. We have several gift of the Spirit (1 Cor 12 is detailed on Spiritual gifts).
I once listened to a sermon (I canât remember the pastor) but he said we exercise our faith the same way we exercise our muscles. Imagine someone that cannot heal headaches, how will that person heal cancer? But if youâve been healing headaches, stomachache, and small illnesses. When a bigger challenge comes, you will have enough faith to tackle it.

One thing about GOD is; the more you seek, the more you know. Iâm not surprised it was Peter that got the remembrance of what was spoken in the Bible concerning Judas, it might not be wrong to say he received the gift early. In Luke 22:32 in summary Jesus said I have prayed for you, when you returned, strengthen your brethren. Peter already got something before the departure of Christ.
To fulfill destiny, we must stay away from sin and stay in alignment with Christ. Judas by transgression fell and was replaced. He was destined to be part of the witness but because of his desires, he was replacedâŚ., we need to look at ourselves again, what is it that we desire so much that we place above Christ ? Hmmmmm, remember we carry a great destiny and people depends on us but again, we are replaceable.

Yes, the more of God you see the more you know, the more you will want to know. Peter emphasizing so that the scripture must be fulfilled shows how they know the scripture which is the word of God, they have read and listen to it, so we can never go wrong with it. Imagine them not knowing what the scripture says about it and the right interpretation for it. Would they have missed out on what God wants for that season, what he will have them do??
And one thing that stood out to me is that they prayed them casted lot, prayer first before decision, God had given us the wisdom to mar decision but with that we still canât do it alone we need to be led by the spirit of God. Prayer before anything, prayer over anything, pray over everything. One could have said Shebi it is just to pick someone letâs just pick randomly. They could have done that but they choose to seek Gods face before doing that. They need someone God wants, someone that would be a great help to the ministry not someone that will become a prayer point.
So what Iâm saying basically is, seek Gods face over everything, know what God is saying first before any other thing.

Was I the only one thinking on how Luke who was Paulâs physician know so much about the details heâs giving??
I believe Paul who he was following came in later in the chapter. They were not physically present when Jesus was ascending.

The act of obedience and waiting is something we all should learn.
First of all Jesus ask them to wait and they obeyed. They waited, and this type of waiting is not time specific oo. They were just waiting, just hoping. And this type of waiting is waiting for God, you are expecting him to show up, or act. And when we are doing that we are not like okay you ask me to wait Iâm waiting, you will do that prayerfully like the apostles did and it was âconstantlyâ I looked up the meaning of it one of them says non- stop. It takes a lot to do that. We need to ask God for help.
I pray the lord gives us the heart of obedience and ability/ grace to wait when heâs asking us to wait.
Vs 8 talking about you will receive power afterâŚ..
Means when he comes you donât have to start asking for power, miracle, signs and wonders. Itâs full package when you have it you have them all, it âWILLâ come, The boldness to serve God and talk about him will come, strength that you need will come as well.
God will continue to transform us and his words will be effective in our life in Jesus name. Amen!!!
